We invite you, your friends, loved ones, and young ones to ‘welcome in the May’ by honoring our hardworking Pollinator kin at our inaugural Pollinator Picnic. Crafts, stories, and activities are curated for a meaningful celebration of Spring!

  • a small group of maypole dancers of all ages

    Learn Traditional songs and dances

    Gather around the maypole to participate in a simple Morris Dance, sing a traditional May Day song in English, and discover an enchanting song and dance about frogs from Sweden!

    celebrate our local pollinators

    These little creatures do so much for our ecosystem! Honor their efforts with games and interactive stories. Materials will be provided for all attendees to make a pollinator bath to take home and share with our winged friends! We encourage you to wear wings of all kinds if you have them.

    create a simple seasonal ensemble

    Flower crowns are a meaningful way for folks of all ages to play with the blooms and blossoms of spring! English Morris Dancing bells (bells on a simple string, tied and worn on the legs) ring in the season with joy and celebration. Materials will be provided for attendees to craft their own spring ensemble.

    Meet local women and femmes, families, and friends who are interested in: connecting with their Northwestern European cultural heritage in respectful and dynamic ways; bridging the gap from a settler cultural inheritance to respectful and engaged community member; and participating in grassroots efforts to protect and preserve local land and communities.
